Bylaw Committee Bulletin Announcement
There will be several action items and/or votes at our upcoming April 23, 2022 Quarterly Church meeting as follows:
1. There will be elections held for members who want to serve on the Bylaw, Human Resource and Finance Committeesxaa and/or to sit on the Church's Leadership Advisory Council at our upcoming April 23, 2022 Quarterly Church meeting. If you are interested in serving in tahis capacity please contact Ms. Ru Shann Long, Bylaw Chair, at (313) 212-4545 by text no later than Tuesday, April 19, 2022.
We are asking all persons who attended the Bylaw meeting February 2021 who are still interested to also contact Ms. Long by the deadline to be included in this process.
A ballot vote will be taken to add members to these committees April 23, 2022.
2. A ballot vote will be brought to the floor asking the members if they will agree to retain the current 6 person's on the Bylaw Committee to serve additional time on this committee. The rationale for this is to ensure the legacy and history of Unity Baptist Church and the Bylaw process is maintained and passed on to newly elected members. In addition, current members will assist and train new members coming on board.
3. A vote is needed to amend the Bylaws to insert the number of Bylaw Members who should serve on the Standing Committee.
We have two recommendations of either 13 or 15 members. Rationale: Currently the Bylaws do not speak to this issue.
If you have any questions please contact Ms. Long or any member on the Bylaw Committee.
